Park Assist / Trailer Hitch?

Hello,

 

I'm the proud new owner of an '08 Sierra Denali. I recently set up my truck with a trailer hitch, which I like to leave in all the time to disuade people from rear-ending me.

 

However, as soon as I installed the hitch it made my Park Assist go crazy. It alternates between "Park Assist Off" and simply staying on but giving me constant "false-positives".

 

I really like the park assist feature, so I'm hoping someone can teach me a trick for getting my truck to "learn" the trailer hitch is there and just ignore it.

 

Anyone have a commando trick to do this?

I have the exact same problem!

As I was told by the dealership, nothing can be in the receiver, If it is you need to go in to the DIC and turn it off.
