Hi folks.

 

I bought a wait4me programmer for my 08 sierra several months ago. Shortly after I installed it, the engine light came on, and I learned that the crank had to be relearned. Well the only GM dealership in my town happens to be clever, and they suspect I have a chip in my truck. If they relearn the crank they will pick up on the fact that it inst a stock computer, and if I put in the old computer, Im back to square one. I can get it cleared, but then ill be back with the stock computer. Do the other tunes like Westers and Blackbear (or whatever it's called) cause this problem? Or does anyone have an answer to my solution?

 

P.S. I dont think that the computer made a huge difference in power, all it did was eliminate my governor and V4 mode.

If you have a good dealer and tell them you have a tune. It won't be a problem. Blackbear's live tune, can do a crank relearn.

If u really want to see a difference in your truck go with Justin at Black Bear Performance. Wait4Me sucks, I heard they don't even remove TM and that the PCM they send a couple of people looked like they pulled it out a wrecked truck. That's what I heard though, from experience I suggest Black Bear after the tune my truck was a completely different truck.

Sorry to hijack this but huero 26 you were pleased with black bear the only reason i ask is because im on the waiting list, what tune did you go with 87or 93? did you see any mph gain? and what about power wise. thanks

I am very happy with my Black Bear tune, well I went with an all out performance 91 octane tune. Now, when I floor the truck takes off instantly, no more lag and I removed 80% TM so after my transmission shifts I don't lose power. I saw 2 mpg gain but this was when I drove normal, no smashing or anything driving speed limit also. Well, power wise after u tune your truck, you'll think u have another truck because of how different the truck will react with the tune. You'll be very happy your black bear tune.
