Vent Control Switch

I noticed a while back that with the switch in the vent position, I could hear a very faint squeak...like something was cycling back and forth.

Well I came home from a business trip yesterday and my battery was dead in the airport parking lot. Got a jump and drove home. This AM, I went out and the battery is dead again. Had it checked and ended up replacing it.

After I installed it, the only air I can get is to the defroster. Doesn't matter where I place the selector, it blows only in the defrost vent.

I always thought the switch was a vaccum switch. Could the battery going dead have messed up that switch? Could the switch have shorted and killed the battery? Or more likely, I'm thinking, is it coincidental?

Anyone have to replace one of these witches? How difficult is pulling the dash to replace it?

Check out my first post HERE. Sometimes you need to recal after a battery replacement. I would call it coincidence unless it happens again.

No the doors are all run by electric actuators.

The squeek noise is hard to tell without hearing it but here is a common one. If you have auto temp once the vehicle gets to the temperature desired the temp door will switch back and forth very slightly to maintain the temp.

EDIT: I forgot to add that the fuses you will need to pull for an 03 are the HVAC1 fuse in the drivers fuse panel and HVAC/ECAS fuse in the underhood fuse panel then follow the rest of those instructions.
