Don't know anybody that has one but the styling is pretty nice for a small SUV. My Chevy dealer owning buddy says they are doing pretty well with them. AWD should do OK in the sand but I bet you'd want to replace the OEM tires with something a little better.

Good luck.

I would go for the Sport modle. You can still get awd but insted of 185hp you have 264hp. And if you would be replacing the OEM tires anyway it would still be good on sand.

I had a friend who had an equinox. She didn't like it because it would skid around and lose traction very easily, and it was AWD. I just figured well its just a woman driver and she can't handle it right, but then her husband chimed in and confirmed her story. He said it was so light and tall that it made it squirrley. So they traded it for a dodge ram. :dunno:

I don't have anything to add about the sand. I will say that it is one of those vehicles that I usually only see in the shop for maintenance, I can't say anything comes to mind as a big problem with the Equinox. Of course we sell less of them than most other models but usually withinn a few months you can pick up on trends with model problems. It's been a few years and I can't say I've picked up on any fault trends.

Thanks for the replys :dunno:

BTW- Does anyboby have any take off wheels for a silverado they want to sell ? 17"

I have the steel chrome ones, but would love to have the ones that come on the LT models.

They are avail to us for our leasing fleet and I know several people who have them. They have had not issues at all and like them. I looked at one before I ordered but the LS avail to us was a little too plain and utilitarian inside for me.

My wife drives an 05 Equinox LT with AWD. Taken it on several long trips (Knoxville to Tampa) and it seems to be a pretty good vehicle, have never had any problems with it. As to your specific question about sand, I couldn't say, never had the thing on the beach.
