Dynatech Cat/header System For Nbs

Yeah the price doesn't bother me too much, I just wanted somebody with good, solid feedback. I was only hoping to gain a little bottom end, and maybe a little meat in the sweet spot for climbing grades with the travel trailer. Not looking for miracles, I am very realistic.

Since you're not getting any truck related replies, I'll pipe in. In the LS1 F-body world, they had a pretty good reputation. With cats, you'll definitely see some low-end improvement, though as you know, it won't be huge. Once the headers are done though, if you go with the right cam, you can make silly low-end. In my 98 Camaro 1 3/4 longtubes and a cam, i was making 300+ ftlbs at the wheels all the way down to 1400 RPM. That was with stock heads.

Thanks, Karl. Yeah I was hoping not to push the limit of the TC by going with a fat duration on new cam, etc. Hell, I suppose I would have kept my HD with the 8.1 if I really missed the power :wtf: I just wanted to put the little 5.3 on the edge and get the most drivabilty I can for pulling the trailer. It really does all that I want it to, I was just seeing if any more was possible without heavy modifications.

I was determined to just try something a little different, ya know?

We will see how Justin does with my new tune, I am going to have the TC lock up whenever it is in T/H, and play around with shift points in T/H. I can't wait for the handheld HP Tuner to come out.

With the tune, the CAI, and a COMPLETE exhaust system (those headers and cats with my GMPP) it might run okay.

If I could find the right cam, and keep the duration where I don't have to worry about ****in' with the TC, I might go for it...

If you want to talk to someone about it, check out thunderracing.com ask for Geoff. They used to sponsor me when i raced, and he really knows his stuff.

a little meat in the sweet spot

:wtf:

Never had any first hand experience with them, but I've heard plenty of feedback from people who have them. Really you can't go wrong with them, their probably the best headers made for these trucks. Stainless works is also a very good header company. Those two are the best.

:dunno:

Thanks, Sam. I am looking into it right now, found a little better price. I will post up if I pull the trigger!

I am looking at the headers and catted system (on road)

Yeah, yeah Tobias...my bad. It still the New Body Style to me...My OBS is in the garage (800 Tahoe) and may have an OOBS soon in the driveway (400 scsb)

I've been eyeing the same system for a while, basically waiting for someone else to pull the trigger. 1400...is a little steep, but if it's worth it then why the heck not.

I'm also curious as to how it's going to affect the sound of my truck...
