it basically says that 2,700,000 gm trucks and suv's are under investigation of non crash related engine fires, including fires that occurred when the ignition was off!

ehhh - I like 'hot' better.. It's not quite as obvious.

I think it was brought up a few months ago. If I remember right, without reading the article, something like 7 vehicles so far have been affected.

 

EDIT: Just skimmed the article, said 8, so I was off by one.

Yup, I was wrong. The 8 number was for vehicles that caused property damage. Guess I should skim a little slower from now on.

Fords were doing that because of the cruise control switch. The wire became too hot if it was left on and vehicle shut off?

This sucks! I stayed away from Ford because of all the recalls they tend to have. I sure hope my truck doesn't burn to the ground one of these days. Regardless, GM is still better than the Ford's.
