Who's installed headers on the 1995 and earlier 350's? I've done it with real old stuff and Hooker has always worked good for me, but I want something that will last. I've seen lots of different prices, but need some reviews from you.

I have a friend that put a set of hookers on his 95 350 z28, had them jet-hot coated and loves them, no problems. He did spring extra for the fancy locking header bolts because several other people here have had problems with them comming loose on any brand of header.

Two things you can do to help keep your headers bolts tight:

First, use high strength high quality bolts.  I used ARP stainless header bolts on my Hooker Super Comps and when I rechecked them they were all still torqued to spec after 500 miles.

Second, torque them to spec with a torque wrench.  Now, this is pretty much impossible to do on all the bolts on most cars and trucks.  On my Corvette, I have two or three I can't reach, but I did my best.  On the Suburban I can get the torque wrench on each and every one of those little bastards, and I do!!
