Hi All,

I'm the proud new owner of a 2007 Reg Cab Long Bed, bought used with 2900 miles on it. I've been wanting to get a utility truck for yard/house work and I finally pulled the trigger.

Pic attached post-51697-1219963131_thumb.jpg

It's a basic work truck (happened to be an LS with the Chrome) with:

4 x 4

GM bed liner

Z85 trailer & handling. 3.73 axle

snow plow package and that's about it!

I do wish the LS radio played MP3 CD-ROMS, other than that the CD player works well.

So far I've added:

-- the DIC buttons, of course! (thanks "Daddy" for the thread on that)

-- Nifty 409601 Catch-All Xtreme floor mats: not real impressed with these, flimsy, should have gone with the Weathertech we have in our other vehicles. Oh well, lesson learned!

-- Wade bed rail covers: despite using alcohol to clean the paint prior to applying, these are already starting to come up (flap in the wind, sigh). I'm going to pull them and repeat with 3M 7/8" automotive acrylic attachment tape (part #06383). I probably should have paid up and gone for the GM covers, another lesson!

-- Husky mud flaps: these I'm happy with, they went on easy and have worked well protect the paint.

-- Cover Craft sun shade Part #CC-10966 (in the pic): this works great, fits well. would buy it again.

Upcoming mods:

-- rear air bags, probably the Air Lift kit that I've seen others install on this site.

-- front level (RC kit, probably)

-- wheels and tires, although the stock ones are just fine, even though the truck was optioned down to 245/17's. I'd like to run 285/70/17's which will probably require the leveling kit from what I've read.

So far I'm averaging 17.7 MPG in mixed driving, including hauling 3 tons of stone and two yards of mulch, lumber, cement bags, etc. can't complain!

My wife actually likes driving it, so I may try to trade it and her SUV in a couple years for a 1500 with the 4.5L Duramax.

Thanks,

Ian

Welcome, Nice rig. I have both the weathertechs and the GM bedrail covers. get them if you can, they're both fantastic. Just put the bedrail covers on today. We'll see how well the adhesive holds up, but they look fantastic:
