Installing New Stereo

Hello everyone, new here.

I have a slight dilema in my installing of a new radio.

Brief description: I have a 2005 Yukon Denali that has xm radio, am/fm radio, and navigation touch screen. The vehicle came with a 6-disc cd changer at the bottom of the console. The cd changer never worked when I bought it and the dealership was giving me a hard time in replacing it. So I bought a new stereo (VRCD500-SDU) that can play cd's, ipod input, usb input, and sd card input. I took the old cd changer out and there was 6 cd's stuck in there. Now when I was trying to hook up my new stereo to the wiring in my vehicle, the wires weren't matching up. I got a wire diagram off of google: http://home.bak.rr.com/homeindex/changer.JPG which seems to match up with the one in my vehicle. I got the new stereo to turn on, but my vehicle is not recognizing it, meaning I can't get anything to play from my new stereo to my speakers. I can't even switch over to it. Can anyone help me, maybe I hooked the wrong wires together?

The wiring for my truck according to the website above says I only have one left and right speaker wire, but my new stereo came with 2 wires (+, -) for each speaker (RF, LF, RR, LR). My stereo also came with a wire for my fuse and one for the ignition. I had to connect both wires to the power volt wire for my vehicle to get it to work. I don't know which wire to hook up to the amplifier remote/power antenna wire in my stereo? And which of my speaker wires do I connect to the speaker wires in my vehicle (+)? or (-)? I also have a remote playback audio signal wire in my truck, which wire on my stereo do I connect it to? Could anyone help? I am desperately trying to get this hooked up this weekend.

The link you posted seems to be for the wiring going from your factory stereo to the 6 disk changer although I do believe the speaker wires are as follows: RF+(DK GRN), RF-(LT GRN), LF+(TAN), LF-(GRY), RR+(DK BLUE), RR-(LT BLUE), LR+(BRN), LR-(YEL). If you haven't cut off the factory connector you might consider something like the Scosche GM09SR to make the job much easier.

We really need to know whether you have Bose or OnStar.

I agree with bossier62guy. You need to get a wiring harness (we help you with that as soon as we know if you have Bose or OnStar) so you don't have to cut the factory wiring.

Don't all 05 YD's have Bose??? I think this is his problem. He needs the adapter so he can use a non-OE radio with the Bose amp/speakers.
