Heater core making sounds?

Whenever I accelerate especially when the heater is on I can hear a bubbling sound.  It sounds like its coming from the heater core of something.  Does this mean I have bubbles in my system or is there an air leak?  Its been doing this for years.

Yes,

 

You have air in the cooling system. The best way that I have found to get rid of it is to drain the system, fill it back up, run the vehicle to normal temp with the heater on High and watch the level of the radiator. You will probably have to add antifreeze after it comes up to temp and everything circulates.

 

This is a good time to replace the stat and hoses if needed.

When was the last time you flushed the cooling system?my 93 Caprice does that,when the coolant gels up.I do the flush and refill and it goes away for a couple of years!
