4l60e Strange Noise When Shifting

Hey Folks,Through extensive searching, both here and on other forums, I have not found an answer to my problem. I have found others who have my problem, but alas.. no answers.So here it is: My tranny shifts perfectly. TC locks and unlocks like it is supposed to. But there is an odd sound coming from it when it shifts between gears on acceleration. It does it between all gears except when going into OD. I can only describe it as a "screech". The only other thought that comes to my head.... and forgive me for being a geek.... is that it sounds like a Tie Fighter from the first Star Wars movie. (if you were a fan like me, you'll know that sound).It is not intrusively loud, but you can hear it in the cab, and my neighbor heard it the other day and mentioned it to me. Someone on another forum suggested it might be the "front pump", but I am no Tranny specialist, so I don't know what he is talking about.Please help if you can. I don't want to let something that may be little now turn into something huge later!Thank you, and also thanks to all of you who have helped me already with my new purchase. I have been chasing down demons on this used Tahoe since the second day I owned it. Things that didn't rear their ugly heads during all the test driving.James

I had a 78 Chev that made a big metal on metal screech sound for a few seconds when I was on it hard. Turned out to be a cracked flex plate.

This isnt metal-on-metal sounding.... it is more hydrolic in nature.

There's a possibility that it's the oil pump in the front of the trans. Not your converter but the pump. I'm not sure how to test it myself, short of tearing it out and seeing if it builds enough pressure.

I guess my realistic approach is to take it in and let a tranny specialist ride with me and hear it for him / herself.

Not real happy about a 56,000 mile truck already having this kind of problem!!
