Katzkin Seat Covers Have Arrived

UPS just dropped them off, and I zipped down to the dealership with the receipt and an appointment was made to have them installed next week. Dealership is going to pay 1/2 of the Katzkin, and they are also looking at doing 1/2 the installation. They are taking the truck to the upholstery shop so it looks like it is a GMC job as they will give a better price to them as opposed to me just walking in.

The seats are nice looking, and the leather smell is sweet. I will post pictures after they are installed. My days of lint are coming to an end .

You're going to like those Katzkins. Just a head's up on the install, make sure the dealer re-zeros the sensors in the seats after the Katzkins are in. Otherwise, the airbags may not deploy properly.

Under the thread that is 32+ pages long about the Ebony Seats, near the end I wrote that I had gone into the service department to see the manager and showed him my black military uniform that was covered in lint, and it looked like shit. I told him of the numerous times that I had to use a lint roller on the seats per week, and he was quite shocked. I showed him the TSB that was out that clearly showed the GMC were aware that there was a problem. He saw the proof of the lint problem on my uniform. He talked to his service boss who talked to his boss, and it was decided to get me some seat covers. I asked if I was to order in some material that replaces the linty crap, would they be willing to help me out, and they agreed. This service manager is great, and I have nothing but good things to say about him. He recognized a problem, and acted on it. I only hope that everyone else's service dude, including the GMC big guys who may or may not read this, also act on this problem.

Perhaps a nice letter to the dealership GM might be in order when this is all said and done to document this situation being taken care of for you.

I opted for the 2 colour seat covers with the insert a different colour then the rest of the seat, and I think the total price including shipping was just shy of $700.00. Now, if you are ordering in the states, you will probably a lot less for shipping. The guy I went through was great, and very helpful. He is:

The truck is at the Upholstery shop right now. I am suppose to pick it up tomorrow, and I should also know soon what % the dealership is paying. He is aiming at 50%, which would be alright. I will be posting the pictures soon, but if I have to be patient, then so do you .

Finally, some pictures. The colour I chose was Carbon, and the insert is Teak. The actual colour of the insert is a bit darker then the pictures show. The leather is soft and extremely comfortable, and they fit like a glove. Best thing is, no more lint. It took the upholstery shop a day and half to get it done, and even they commented on the nice fit of the covers.

my dad has the stock leather but on the z71 package it came two toned leather....white and black...looks sick and its surprisingly not that hard to clean
