This a random question, but i cant help but notice that every time i turn on my headlights, i have to push the little gray button to turn on those sweet looking fog lamps. My question is why is it that way, and is there a way to change it so that the lights come on with the headlights, and then i can press the butoon to turn them off?

Any insights would be awesome.

There are lots of How-To's about doing a HI+LOW+FOG mod on here (search is your friend).

EDIT: I just produced the I-D-10-T error on myself

Those are all taking about wiring low and high beams together. Im just takin about lows and fogs. Ill keep serching for the right thread.

Put a diode from post 85 on the low relay to post 85 on the fog lamp relay. Post #5 from the previous link show a picture of the electrical center.

Ive found the diode way, and it looks like it will work, but does that override the button in the cab? If so has anyone heard of a way to just reverse the switch. Meaning the fog lights come on automatically and then you need to push the button if you want them off.

The diode overrides the switch. To set it up like you describe you'll need a 3 way switch; switch up to have the fogs come on with the lows and down to have the lows on and fogs off. That should be easy to do though.

do you think i could reverse wire the existing switch? or maybe get another switch like the one for cargo lamp and swap the fog switch with that? I just want to keep it looking stock.

I think you're going to have a hard time adding another button to keep the stock look. You do have a spot next to the passenger airbag switch, where the quadrasteer button should be, that can be added but it would be an on/off switch. I added something like this for my aux back-up lights, 1st picture in post #11 link

You could do the same thing the switch would stay in the up position and the fogs would come on with the lows, switch it to the down position and the fogs would work independent. It's not as easy as the diode but it can be done. I got all my electrical supplies including the wiring clips for clean connections at the MBEC from mouser electronics.

Alright thanks, ill see what looks the best switch-wise and then try that way. Thanks for the ideas.

You have the stock setup so I don't but for those without the stock setup I went with an after market pilot switch kit with relay. I get the desire effect that you are wanting every time but I'll admit the first time I hooked it up I was baffled, the daylight sensor was throwing me off (it was the middle of the afternoon - it took me 15 minutes to figure it out).

"Fog lights" should be illegal, and their use punishable by death. I'm going to start mounting airplane landing lights to my truck to deal with you people with your HIDs and fog lights. Fog lights are yellow, and for fog. People running those white, yellow, purple, blue "fog lights" should be punished using the aforementioned method.
