Exhaust Drone

I have a 2007 silverado (new body style), and I am considering a new exhaust system. I don't like how most systems exit and I am considering having one made. Probly going to use a flowmaster or magnaflow muffer. What concerns me is that I have heard that when the active fuel managment kicks in and the engine drops to 4 cyl. mode most after market exhaust systems have a very annoying drone. Has anyone experienced this?

I'm running a Flowmaster 50 series with turndown before the rear axle. It sounds perfect for what I wanted, and the interior noise is minimal. I used the DiabloSport Predator to disable the AFM (DOD) so I don't experience the change in sound. But I have heard that the sound of 4cyl mode is terrible.

I had the FM50 and the interior drone was significant (too much for me).

 

Yeah, with the 50, the V4 sounds strrange.

 

Switched to a FM 70 Big Block II, and the sound is exactly what I wanted. Do a search, I posted sound clips of the 50 and 70 very recently.

I just had a super 40 welded in. The sound is exactly what i wanted. I actually hear nothing when it is in 4 cyl mode. I do hear quite a bit in the interior at about 2k. But i like it.
