jtexas Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I am trying to take the radio out of ny 1999 Z-71. I have the dash off but i am a novice and don't want to force anything. How do I remove the head unit?
MS3DALE Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I wish I had a picture, but I'll try to explain... There are two "locking tabs" (One on each side of the radio) you push down to unlock the radio from its slide bracket (The radio just slides in and out on plastic "slide" brackets) They are Black in color, just use your fingers to release them and the radio will slide out.

Thanks for the info, I will give it a shot.
2000DV4.8 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Yup, that main dash piece just pulls off (helps to move the shifter down and drop the steering wheel all the way down), then there are the 2 tabs that Rich described.
