Tranny noise

When it is extremely hot and I sit idling for a few minutes, like at a stoplight, the tranny has a whine for the next few miles. It doesn't do this when the temperature is below 90. It doesn't have any effect other than the increased noise.

 

Any ideas?

Are you sure it isn't the clutches engaging on the engine fan?  That's all I can think of, because I don't recall anyone else mentioning a problem like this.  You may want to have a dealer listen to it...  ???

Definitely not the fan clutch.
