Xm Deals

Does anyone know of any XM deals? We have Sirius and I would rather be able to add my XM radio to our Sirius account but have heard it's not possible.

Instead of starting a new thread I'll just bring up an old one.

Any new deals lately for subscribing to XM? My trial is expiring in a coupe weeks. I called them and stated I wanted to cancel and go back to SIRIUS, they offered me $7.99/month (CDN) which after tax works out to roughly CDN$121 for the year. (The regular cost is about $14.99/month).

Now I have to say I prefer SIRIUS, but love the fact that XM is fully integrated. (I hate clutter, and the wires associated with the separate SIRIUS unit, namely, occupying my Aux Input) BUT SIRIUS is better for the following reasons:

1. Howard Stern (he's not on XM)

2. FREE online access, iPhone app, etc. (XM charges like $3/mo for this!)

3. Portability. Since the SIRIUS is a separate unit I can use it in my house, portable ghettoblaster, etc.

SO... is that decent? or should I call back and try for more? What are you guys paying??

I saw deals for "$77" but it was over a year ago, and not sure if that's still current, and not sure if it was US or Canada.

Thats the deal I got last month. I couldn't find any really cheap codes to punch in.

When it was time to renew, I called to cancel. The XM programming was not doing it for me. They offered the $77 deal again. When I told them "no thank you", they went as low as $54 for the year. Maybe it is something you should try. I still cancelled my service.

Found out that "$77" deal was XM America only. :(

On another note, JUST today, it was officially announced that XM Canada and SIRIUS Canada are finally merging! (The US counterparts merged over a year ago). SO that being said.. does that mean they will share technologies? i.e. Satellites? I always got better reception with SIRIUS than XM, and I was told it was due to the SIRIUS satellite being 'higher orbit in the sky' (not sure if that was just a line) but it might make sense

I've renewed the last 4 times for $23.05 for 5 months (works out to about $55.32 per year) for XM everything. The last time I renewed was about a week ago and had no problems getting it. Of course I really was willing to cancel the subscription if I didn't get it.

edit: that rate includes the music royalty fees, it was 19.99 for 5 months pus the fee.
