Well i was on my way to work this morning and i stop at a stop light i hear this skerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr BAM!! I am thinkin ahhhh shit i have to pull over now and get his insurance and see how bad it is. So i start pulling over to the side of the road and i am making some ground but i am just bunin rubber now i am thinkin damn he really f'ed me up so i look behind me and he is parrellel to traffic now the dip shit is holding on to his brakes and i am still draggin his ass lol my tow hitch got stuck under his hood. so we get out and do the is everyone alright talk and then i look at his car DAMN my tow hitch f'ed his shit up!!! than look at mine i need new exsaust and a new bumper w/ covers he is leaking fluid like there is no tomorrow. so we swap information and i jump back in now there is a check engine light on i drive it to work and call my insurance later they tell me DO NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE we are going to send a tow truck out to get you so they did i droped it off at the body shop a few hours ago and they gave me a F150 :/ oh well i guess i am atleat putting miles on something else that is not mine :-D so that was my day how was yours

 

i didnt get a chance to get any pictures oh well tho

James I hate that happened to you... Just yesterday I heard the same noise, thank God it was the poor bastard in the lane next to me that got rear ended... Hope Insurance takes care of your truck.

I love tow hitches in minor bumps. I had one on my Dodge for years. Curled some poor ladys license plate on an Escort and I have no idea what it did to a bug that popped his clutch at a drive thru.

 

Now the backup sensors on my '07 hate it and it doesn't fit in the garage either with it on :puke:

 

Hang in there...it will get fixed and life will go on...

Same here...my front bumper rests against the shelves. Only way it will fit. My old truck got hit on the hitch at sonic, left a nice dent in a ford!

 

Hopefully not too much damage was done to your truck!

Good thing no one was hurt. Hopefully your truck isn't too damaged and can easily be fixed. Could have been worse though, they could have gave you a Tundra...

That royally sucks that your truck got rear ended. I'm glad that you're okay and your truck isn't too badly damaged and can be repaired quickly.

 

That is funny though that you were towing him while your hitch was stuck in his hood.

I had the EXACT thing happen to me last Friday night, minus the check engine light. I called the other guys insurance company, made an appointment with the adjuster yesterday afternoon, and they wrote me check for $490 to get a new bumper. All it really did was scuff the plastic step pad and twist the bumper a little. I was able to twist the bumper back by hand so no I have just a few scuffs and $490 in my pocket.

I got rear ended several years ago in Austin. Just sitting at a light and BAM! I turned around to look and this old lady just waves and smiles at me like nothing happened. The light turned green before I could get out, so I pulled ahead 10 ft to the gas station and pulled in, fully expecting her to follow me but of course she kept driving. As she drove past the front of her hood had a good sized crack in the middle of it, and when I looked at the back of my truck all I had was some of her paint on the trailer ball. She didn't even touch the actual truck. All I could do was laugh at her, because I'm sure she tore into her radiator, and she wasn't going to get very far.

 

Glad you came out ok. I think you should take that ford and see how much airtime you can get.

Since the new trucks don't have real bumpers like the GMT400's and earlier. One of these things could work to protect all that plastic.

same thing happened to me about a month ago. you'll be suprised how much a "good" body shop can find wrong with a seemingly minor accident. Mine totalled $1900 for a rear end collision. Pretty sure that focus saw its last day on the road.
