06 Trailblazer Cd

I have a 2006 Trailblazer, and the CD will no longer pull the disk into the unit. If I push it in, it won't play the disk, but it will eject it. Anyone have any Ideas?

You got a brother that drives a Subaru? :D

I'd take it apart and clean it internally using compresed air. A lot of times dirt and gradoo gets inside and mucks up the works. If cleaning it doesn't work, talk to your dealer. A lot of them have places that they UPS to that refurb them pretty reasonably... or use the opportunity to install a decent aftermarket unit. Many are pretty cheap these days.

Yep- that would be me! Pretty good thread going though - thanks for the help! I have a hard time with my son buying a Toy, but you gotta let them learn on their own. I am sure every time he gets in my Sierra Denali he will recognize the error of his ways.

I will try to clean this radio like you suggest. It's my company vehicle so I doubt I will spend any $$$ for anything better.

And then you can be a good father, and not say anything to him, he'll know he made the wrong choice, you won't need to tell him.

Ouch, before you go through all that taking apart stuff, rule out a logic loc issue with the radio. I know some parts of the radio work so that doesn't seem likely but parts of the radio can lock up and show no other signs. There are about 5 different radios in trailblazers and 10 different combos of fuses so just disconnect the negative battery cable and let it sit for awhile. Plug it back in and see what happens.

It may not do anything for you but it's a whole 3 minuites of work to find out and you risk dammaging nothing.

Oh I forgot to ask, is it the six disk radio?

I is the base radio - has AM/FM and a CD player that will play MP3 disks

Thanks!

Ok I just asked because there is a reflash for the six disk unit not accepting cd's, but it doesn't apply to that unit.
