Fresh Dyno Tune

Recommended Posts

Posted

Well my wife brought my 94 in for a tune and she claims it is night and day improvement. It was running weak IMHO and attached is the dyno results. We also had installed a new chip that FASTCHIP made for it. The HP is still pathetic but predicable (and much improved) for a 94 454, but the torque looks impressive. When I get home next Christmas I'll take it for a cruise with trailer in tow and see if it is acceptable. If not I will be plumbing the depths of the forums knowledge for an engine build and throw a ton of cash at it.

Oh man! Wow! Thing probably pulls like a freight train! Congratulations.

The truck is new to me and procured more for fun than practicality. It was quite a sluggish pig before I replaced the exhaust with a more restrictive set up. I have a car hauler that I fill with Harleys and I want to use it camping when I am stateside so I wanted pulling power. The truck is tip top with only 38K on it and not a spec of rust. Inside and out it is near flawless so it is worth investing for the long haul. It does have an ever so slight stumble at idle that naws at me so I'll try a few easy tricks to start. I suspect it may be carboned up as the previous owner only put 1 to 2K per year on it for the last 10 years and I think it craves a work out. This is my first NV4500 transmission and I love the way that sucker shifts. Great tranny.
