08 Vortecmax 6.0 Idle Question

Should the idle on my 08 VortecMax 6.0L motor be smooth? Although the truck only has 1700 miles on it so far, I have noticed a rough idle in the morning before the coolant comes to operating temp. Occasionally, it will also idle rough when warm but not as bad as when it's still warming up.

 

Is this a characteristic of the AFM system and the 6 liter motor, or is it time to go talk to the service department?

It's not the AFM, these engines idle in V8 mode.

 

Mine is smooth as silk, I would have it checked out.

I was thinking that the low miles may have been part of the issue, something like not fully broken in. Think I'll talk to the service department on Monday. Now that I think about it, fuel mileage is down around 14.2 for an average according to the DIC.

 

Although I've only had the truck for two months, I have yet to see anything else wrong or needing adjustment at this point. My 99 Silverado was the same way.
