How Hard To Transfer Tpms To New Rims?

Im getting new 20s and i am only selling my wheels. So i will have an opportunity to remove my TPMS and apply them to the new rims. What is the procedure to do this and/or how hard? Can i do this or should i just let the tire shop do everything?

Let the tire shop do it. They shouldn't charge you anything extra as there's no real appreciable change in the amount of work they have to do. Each TPMS sensor attaches to a non-reusable valve stem so you'll want to make sure your shop carries the stems only. If they tell you they can't replace the stems only and try to sell you the entire unit, find another shop. I have the best luck with Discount Tire.

Depends on which shop you choose but I'd guess $50-$100 plus the $35 or so for the new stems.

And just in case you need it,The GM part number for the replacement valve stems is 15263240,They list for $7.75 each.

I wouldn't consider $31 (7.75 x 4) "substantially cheaper" than "$35 or so".
