Grinding While Turning Left

I recently noticed that while making left turns at speeds above 10mph I'm experiencing some type of grinding noise coming from the driver's side front of the vehicle. I've only noticed it in 2wd thus far and haven't tried it in 4wd. Any thoughts/ideas?

 

It's a 2000 Silverado 4x4 w/ 5.3L

CV Joint? My left CV went out on my '91 and it first started to make noise only when turning.

My bet would be wheel bearing/hub assembly. Jack up the front of the truck, and grab the front tire at 12 and 6 o'clock, and wiggle it back and forth. If there's any play, your hub/bearing assembly is bad. Do this on both sides.

cv joints usually make a clicking sound while you're turning.

Thanks for the replies it was the wheel bearing on the passenger side front. So now it's just time to finally fix the stupid service 4x4 light
