Installing Rough Country Leveling Kit

I was installing the leveling kit last night and I was just wondering if I was the only one who ran into this problem.

I got everything loosened up (the sway I totally disconnected, and the strut I loosened the top) and was able to move the strut out of the way and push the lower A down to slide the blocks in. I couldn't put all 3 block in because I was hitting the bumpstop on the lower A when I pushed it down, and the strut was too long to get it lined back up. I managed to get 3 under the strut at one point, but I couldn't compress the strut enough by hand to get it over top of the blocks. So I was only able to put 2/3 blocks on each side.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out, but I would have liked to have gotten all 3 in there. Anyone else have any issues similar to this, or did I just give up too fast (about 2 hours working on the first side trying to get it to fit).

I had the same problem so what I did, since my truck is 2WD I removed the upper ball joint nut completely and remove it from the knuckle, before doing that you have to hold the knuckle with something because after it gets loose it will fall down and can break the brake line, this way I had plenty of room to put all the 3 pieces together, after securing the strut to the bottom, I lifted the lower A bar with a jack to align it with the upper ball joint, put the nut and tighten everything together..

it took me 2hours on the first side, but all i did was i loosened up the upper ball joint and unscrewed the sway bar link completely, and took out the two bottom strut bolts. i also unhooked the brake line from the assembly to make sure i had enough slack to push down on the assembly without braking anything. the front axel did flex quite abit but nothing i haven't done on my past front wheel drive car, plus this is a truck and made to take abuse so i figured it could take my buddy pushing down on it for a few seconds so i could slide the blocks into place. i had a buddy of mine push down on the upper control arm and i slid the blocks underneath the shock and it barely fit with him pushing down on the assembly, but i did get them in there. tightened everything back up and then did the other side in like 45min after i knew what to do in wat steps to make it easier for me. pretty simple though. hope this helps.

Take the upper ball joint apart, then everything has room to move . Then loosen just the nuts on the upper "A"arm so you can pull it down and back together.

I just used a pry bar under the strut to pry it up enough to slide the blocks in. It takes alittle work but you will get them in there.

All I did was take the two bolt from the bottom of the strut out and loosen the sway bar ends. Then with the truck on jack stands I put my floor jack under the A arm and jacked it up just to the point where the truck was about to lift off the jack stand. Then I took a ratchet strap and looped it under the bottom end of the strut and then hooked that same end around the coil springs and the other end to the top of the strut mount. Then let the jack down and prayed that the racket strap held and push down on the A arm and slide the block in and put the bolt in and your good to go. It would have been 10 times easier for me to do it with someone to help but I couldn't wait so I did it myself, like anything the first side takes longer, it took me about 45mins the secound side only about 20. Probably not the safest way to do it but probably one of the fastest ways. There was a lot of tension on the strap, I bumped it a few times and it sounded like a guitar string.
