Well all 1/2-ton GMT900 trucks do,The GMT800 trucks (4wd) along with all 3/4 & 1-tons still use torsion bar IFS.

they should of all went to coils. Is that for the HDs?

Nope, only 1500's have the new coil suspension. HD's still use torsion bars.

Thanks for the info on the coils. And the year started for the 1500 crew cab. My brother isn't gonna be happy. He doesn't want to spend more then 10k.

Found more info on the crew cab 1500. 2001 was the first year for the crew cab HD. Still prices start around 10k. He should just get a tahoe. More years to choose from for under 10k.

They've had crew cabs as far back as 80something but they're extremely rare, ext cab was the people carrier form for a while.

Yes,But only in 1-ton versions,Not 1/2-ton (Unless you got a Centurion conversion)

I know about the older crew cabs. Just wanted to know about the 1/2 ton crew cabs. Anyways I don't think he will buy one. #1 price, #2 6.0 engine. I'll talk to him more about it tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

Next question, how much of a diff in the length of the rear seat between an ext cab compared to a crew cab? The only info I found is that the crew cab is 6" longer leg room. Want to know about the seat itself. The part you sit on. Thanks.

I don't know the dimensions, but it's about like a normal seat.
