08' Remote Start Bypass

I will be installing a remote starter in my 08' Sierra soon and have been trying to figure out what bypass module will be needed. At this time I have no intention to install this thing myself, I actually plan on bringing it somewhere to get installed. I just want to know which module/s I need so the guy installing the thing doesnt try to sell me the most expensive one out there, or try to sell me something that I dont even need.

 

From my brief research i've found 3 modules that should work, but im pretty uncertain which is the right one.

 

1.) Immobilizer Bypass (Part #PKUGM2X)

2.) Combo Interface (Part #1701G)

3.) Xpress kit XK01, Programable platform #01 (very pricey)

 

I'm sure this topic has been beat to death but if there's anybody that could shed some light it would be very helpful.

Yeah, im still considering that as an option, but at $210 for the fob, and with the dealer wanting $170 for the install, im approaching $400 when its all said and done. I'm trying to be a little conservative and I need to justify spending $400 on a remote starter to the wife.

It is covered under the factory warranty too i had mine done. took them a few hours and was worth it trust me.

Window sticker...or look at the sticker inside your glove box.

There will be a label in the glove box that will list all the RPO codes. Also, someone who can run your VIN can get the list of RPO codes.

Run a search on this site...there's a link somewhere that will list what each code means.

 

For example:

GT4 = 3.73 ratio axle

GT5 = 4.10 ratio axle
