I'm confused on how the Chevy beat the GMC in power and pulling.

I find it funny how differently they "perform" over at Consumer Reports... Must have some really talented staff.

 

I like this line from pickuptrucks.com.. it shows how gay their "testing" was.

 

"The Chevrolet Silverado ranked right behind the Ford, with 58 points. It so tremendously dominated the power and pulling tests that it only barely lost to the better-equipped, better-riding F-150. If the Silverado’s fuel economy performance had been even in the middle of the pack rather than last, it would have won this contest."

Based on the numbers I would think the Sierra got the retarded driver of the bunch. It should have match the Silvy. I don't think I fully trust their traction /off road tests either. Other then that it was a pretty interesting read.

Good post. It just goes to show you that the "results" are usually just somebody's opinion... and that somebody rarely would know a truck from a hole in the ground. I see the same sort of crap over on Car & Driver and Road & Track. They always puss out and give the "award" to the most carlike truck (which is bullshiite) and complain that the others rode too rough or something idiotic like that. The poor bastards can't seem to pull their heads out of their asses long enough to look up and see that they are TRUCKS.

 

I think our trucks are so wussified now that we should all have to wear pink farkin slippers just to drive them. I miss real trucks.

Interesting article though. It's interesting how much difference in engine displacement and gear ratio's you see. You'd think you'd want it more fair than that. The GM 6.2 ought to go better than the Ford 5.4

 

But I guess the manufacturers provided.

PUTC is pretty un-biased from my experience reading their stuff, unlike most of the rag mags.

After reading the testing I guess it sounds pretty legit to me. lol, they tested the 6.2/6spd only no wonder they whooped everyone's ass. What's funny is that the stock silverado they used with a 400hp 6.2/6spd had a 0-60 in about 7.0sec. which is about as fast as my 285hp truck after it was tuned last week by Justin.

You sure about that Zach? 7.0 secs is a pretty quick 0-60 for a stock, tuned 5.3 ext cab.
