Rear 4x6s

i've been looking at them for a while, and i still cant seem to figure out how they come out. it looks like the plastic part extends up to the front seat belt (part at the top where it bolts in) and i dont want to take the seat belt out, i hate breaking those covering parts for the bolt. so does the plastic come off so i can access the speaker without  taking all the stuff out? its not like the a regular cab and i dont see any screws.

that makes no sense so i'll get a picture in a minute to help explain.

Well, let me tell first off it is a pain in the a$$ to change those 4x6's.  If you do not break every clip in the top panel across the roof you are lucky.  Just unbolt the top seat belts, which is no big deal, and the rest are clips that hold in the rest of the panels.  Good luck.

i hate unbolting the seat belts, did it in the 89, still dont have the covers for the bolts up top. maybe theres a way to get them off without breaking them this time.

well i got to the top of the seat belts unbolted and took out the screw where the little coat hanger part was, now nothing is happening. i start pulling on part of it and the clips come out, but it wont go any farther. is there an order to what comes off now? do i have to pull off the bottom part of the plastic ?

Take the off the back panel first.  Then comes that darn top piece, then the side will come next.  After you get the few screws that there is out, it is all clips.  Good luck!

i ended up figuring it out. top peice broke, stupid plastic.  hopefully i can get one to replace it or glue it without it costing a ton.  kind of stuck now since i dropped my socket, cant get the other stock 4x6 out till i get the energy to look for it some more. and i still have my amp to install tomorrow. i love truck audio, but i'm getting sick of the work. somethings always goes wrong.
