6t7gto Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I have an 03 3500 drw with the dmax and i have a leak coming off the rear of the oil pan on the passanger side and i can not find were it is originating from. Now i had a slight problem last winter and no problem over the summer just when i started to use the heater again. under the hood just reaks of coolant. any ideas would be great thanks jason

I guess we'll have to take off the skid plate to see where it is leaking from. Can't see anything from the top. david
L29er Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 It could be the water pump, but i beleive it is located on the drivers front of the engine, Could be the block heater (if equipt) or a leak off the heater lines......?
Z45 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Common problem I am told. Was just talking with a friend who got rid of his 2003 for the same reason. He said he had to replace the heads, injectors etc. A defect exists. Supposed to be an extended warranty on this (200,000 miles he says) but some dealers act dumb about it. Also bad head gaskets are another common complaint.

6t7gto Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 UPDATE. my son found the leak. he said it was an O-ring. something about one of the two thermostat housings? not sure exactly what he means but i should get to see the truck this saturday. thanks for the replies and suggestions. david
