I just got back from dealer wanting to order the PAL cable. He said by the last 8 digits of my VIN # that it wouldn't work. He said I needed XM!? I know some people here have used it. If you have can you tell me what type of radio you have? I have the single disc CD player.

Thanks.

I know about the headphone cable that plugs into the audio input of the radio. I have it. I want to be able to use the truck radio controls to manipulate the ipod and hopefully have better sound quality.

My '04 Silverado isn't compatible due to the fact that it doesn't have the "aux" or "XM" port available. If the truck has "XM" it has the capability from the factory. I use a "FM modulator" for my I-Pod and it works great. Plugs into the lighter plug and plays through the radio. Good luck!

I had the PAL installed on my '08 and it works fine for me. I think you have to have XM, because it plugs inline with the XM somehow. You have to press the "Band" button to cycle through the inputs:FM, AM, XM, FM, AM, IPOD... Every other time you get to XM it displays the IPOD as the input.

I think the radio code is something like RU8. Sorry, if that's wrong, it was from memory. Mine is the one with the 6 CD in-dash changer.

Hope that helps.
