Mass Air Flow Sensor

Would it hurt anything if i would remove the honeycomb out of my stock MAFS

You run the risk of ending up with a non-functional MAFS. The interior design is part of what makes the sensor efficient. The real question is WHY? You won't gain airflow if that is what you are after.

I'd recommend against it.

I am asking because i have i cold air intake and programmer and exhaust and i was told that i am losing HP due to the fact that the stock one cant keep up with the amount of air flow coming in.

Whoever told you that needs a good smack in the head. Leave it alone, it flows just fine.

Don't have an exact answer for that one.

The MAF will normally flow as much air as the stock head, valve, and camshaft is capable of flowing. Perhaps someone will chime in here that can give us more info.

Cause my only concern is that if the stock one is fine what is the point in buying a after market one

Larger diameter aftermarket one might flow more but you'll need some head work and a cam to realize any difference. Or at least that is what I have been told.

i did a lot of home work on this and super chips was the best bag for your buck.

I saw that you posted this in another post. If you are running a super chips programmer, you may want to check out this website.

www.blackbearperformance.com

If you are wanting the most out of your truck, the superchips programmer is not going to take full advantage of your exhaust and CAI.

Other things you might consider are headers, cam, gears...But if you are not wanting to spend that much money, email Justin at blackbear performance, he'll wake your truck up.

Good luck and where are your pictures?

I run and aftermarket MAF that is straight through in design, no difference in performance, as i was explained a factory maf can handle 500hp I purchased mine because i WILL be over 500 HP so i basically needed it... keeper stock bro...

X2 on the 500HP stock MAF. We have seen any people with issues when taking the screen out or replacing the MAF.

On a different note your computer will need to be adjusted for your aftermarket MAF, so I assume you will be tuning for it after you put the blower on. The handhelds do not compensate for non-OEM MAFs, otherwise you will be REALLY lean.
