ok i drive my truck probably 1 or 2 times a week, btw it is a 2007 gmc sierra 1500 nbs, well one day i go to start it and the truck was completely dead, nothing was left on in the truck to drain the battery keep in mind, so i charge the battery over night for a full charge and then put a battery load tester on the battery and the battery is fine. so i just forget about the problem and continue to drive my truck as normal, and the truck was fine until over a month later the same problem happens again, truck is dead for no reason and i mean completely dead, so i charge the battery over night and put the load tester on and the battery again is perfecty fine, so something is draining my battery and i cant figure it out....but the weird thing is that the truck is fine for over a month before it does it again.... if someone had an answer i would really apprieciate it thanks

There was a TSB on an issue with the battery run down protection software. The fix requires trip to the dealer for them to flash new software in.

A search through the tech wiki should up something.

Are you doing anything electrical at all? I've had issues with my battery dying after an hour or so of radio use. I was at the farm on Thanksgiving weekend, and shut my truck off with the headlights for 15 minutes, only to find my battery dead. 15 minutes!

I don't want to go to the dealer to reflash my truck, since I have my BB modules in. :dunno:

You should already have the fix in with the new modules. I believe Justin updates the modules with the latest software before he tunes them.

Well that's what I thought. I may just need a new battery. I mean the thing has to be over a year old . . . :dunno:

This may be what you are looking for.

Thanks Norseman and to the original poster as well. I have had this happen to me twice and could not figure out what was going on. Mine is an '07 with no mods to the electrical system or engine, and nothing was left on after killing the engine. Glad to see the TSB on this - looks like a trip to the dealer is in order.

Thanks again guys!

i didn't see any codes that came up in the truck regarding that tsb issue...

Re-read the TSB. It reads, MAY see codes. That means they might be there or not.
