he Quad Cities[2][3][4] is a geographic region of the Mid-Mississippi Valley of the United States that includes several communities in the states of Iowa and Illinois. The five most populous cities in the region are listed below:

Before World War II, the area was known as the "Tri-Cities", and included only Davenport, Rock Island, and Moline. With the growth of Rock Island County, East Moline was eventually given "equal status," and the region became known as the "Quad Cities" during the early 1960s. By the 1970s, Bettendorf had grown such that many people in the community openly discussed the adoption of the name "Quint Cities". However, by this time, the name "Quad Cities" had become known well beyond the area, and Quint Cities never caught on. As Bettendorf passed East Moline in size, it became one of the Quad Cities—a name that is now technically a misnomer, as the area includes five cities each with a population of over 20,000 and many other contiguous or nearby communities.

There's the Quad Cities in Iowa/Illinois. Davenport, IA; Bettendorf, IA; Moline, IL; & Rock Island, IL. Don't know where he's from though. "isu" could refer to Iowa State University, though.

 Not that it matters, don't know any body shops in the Quad Cities anyway. :D

Welll isn't that Midwestern... 5 cities known as 4 cities.

Never heard of that.

I have heard of several of the cities though, just not the reference.

East Moline doesn't count, they aren't ever mentioned when referred to the "Quad" Cities

Those people run out of town names? East Peoria, East St Loiuis, East Moline, WTF?

We generally just go get a new name here...

Yeah, someone from East Moline probably wrote the wiki.

You guys got it right!

The comments about East Moline are funny. The best part is when you drive into East Moline they have a big sign that goes "Welcom to East Moline, One of the Quad Cities" :happysad: I think they are just bitter.

And yes the ISU in my screen name does refer to Iowa State University ('06 Grad)!

Anyways I was stupid yesterday morning and not watching as I pulled out of my garage and hit the door opening with the side of my truck. I keep it confined to just the rear pass. side door. I went to one place yesterday after work and got an est. for $1,500!

Ouch! I've got a couple small dents from when I did basically the same thing trying to fit my truck in the garage (looks like you were going faster than I was though :D).

Oh, by the way, my truck didn't fit in the garage. :sigh:
