Compass + Temp Mirror Install

Has anyone installed a rearview mirror w/ the Outside Temp and Compass, on a truck that wasn't equipped with it from the factory? I did this on my old Camaro and it was very easy, almost plug and play, with the exception of running the exterior temp probe under the hood. However, I'm not sure what part number I'd need to order to get the proper mirror (there are so many on ebay). Also it would need to come with that temp probe and wiring.

I believe the OEM vendor for most of these is this company here:

http://www.mitocorp.com/auto-dimming-mirrors.html

This should provide you with an appropriate part# if you do a little research here with your vehicle particulars.

Heck, they even have mirrors with On-Star... so this should be the right resource. I noticed that their kits DO include appropriate harnesses and sensors.

Installed one on an 03 F250SD, and, yes, it was a straight-forward install. As you indicated, the most time consuming part was getting the sensor wire to the sensor location under the hood.

Thanks Grumpy! That link was just what I needed. And, I found the correct part number from it which I was able to use on ebay to find the full kits for $199 shipped.

I installed one on my Nissan Frontier and did an entire write-up on my web site:
