Engine Chug

Hey guys, I have a 2004 Sierra 2500 quad cab 6.0l A/T. The truck runs awesome during the summer, but when its cold in the winter time it kinda chugs, almost like if you let the clutch out too quickly on a stick shift. The truck only does this when its cold, usually shifting from first to second gear, and after it does it once, it wont happen again untill the next day. Truck is mostly stock, flowmaster cat back thats all, 60k mi, run regular. Any ideas??

is the engine clean? Carbon buildup could be it, could be weak fuel pump (i dont think so), oil not warm (I really dont think so)?

My 2000 silverado with the 4.8 is doing a chugging, and sometimes dies. but it only does it when you first start it. Im not for sure what the part is called, but i believe it is a fuel pressure regulator, that allows the engine to flood. It only does it when its cold.

Thanx, I appreciate the help, did this fix your problem? and is the regulator seperate from the fuel pump, or is it all one piece?
