Black (chrome) Fuel Door

I have an 08 Silverado LT in Granite Blue.

The overall theme of my truck is black/blue, with blacked out front badge, blue neons in the grill, and black wheels to come

 

I have been looking all over for an aftermarket fuel door to match everything else. The only black ones that I have come across are all locking doors, which I would rather not have to mess with while at the pump.

 

Does anyone know of any other brands that offer a clean looking door?

Yea I was actually considering that.. Most of the nicer one's are chrome. Do you think I could get decent results making it a DIY project? Sand it, Flat Black, And clear? I'm not sure how can paint adheres to chrome.

 

And should I decide to get it powdercoated, it what kinda cost am I looking at? Like $20-30?

You can't powder coat a 'chrome' color. You get it chromed. And yes, $30 for a fuel door sounds about right.

I vote for leaving it stock.

 

That is unless you have problems finding the fuel door. In which case, I'd get some OSHA Yellow spray paint. It will still look better than chrome

My buddy had the red ones on his Chevy Cavalier Type-10 in about 1988. What a smoldering piece of poo that car was. It was black, and he bought some plastic wheel covers and spray painted them red, pin striped the living begezus out of it, and bought those "European" dual wipers (also in red). Smoooooth.
