Electrical Issue Or Coincidence

2004 GMC Sierra Crew Z71 FULLY loaded, except sunroof. 90K miles.

So awhile ago (several months), a couple of my bulbs burnt out in the steering wheel controls. No biggie.

A week ago or so, the top two buttons back light of my 4WD switch quit working. Okay, annoyance. A couple of days later, they worked. Today they were out.

Yesterday the A/C button back light quit working. Today that bulb, and the two to the left are also out.

I don't have, nor have access to a wiring diagram for the truck. Are all of these on the same circuit which would lead me to a possible electrical issue? Or is this just a bad coincidence that is going to cost me some money.

Thanks!

Anthony

Pretty common problem, I'm sure it's just the bulbs. Mine burnt out like that too (all around the same time) If you do a search in this tech-discussion area you will find my post on how to replace them and what bulbs to use. They all have to be soldered in, nice.... (it's really not too bad to do if your handy with a soldering iron)

I was beginning worry. This morning, all the 4wd ones worked!

I can't solder, but I think I have a friend who is good with that stuff. If not, ... hmmm ...

Thanks!

Cut and paste this in the search box it will bring you to the post on how to fix the bulbs for the steering wheel controls Replacement Steering Wheel Button. The HVAC and the 4x4 controls are self explanatory once you get them out of the dash. They come apart easy. The bulbs you want to use for the HVAC and 4x4 are here http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...oductId=2104023 . I suggest replacing all of them at once so you don't have to pull it all apart in a week when more burn out. Here is a link for the steering wheel control bulbs http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...oductId=2103780 Hope this helps. Good luck!
