1989 K1500 Parking Brake

First post, so I hope someone can help me. I have a 1989 Sierra/K1500. Last week up here in Oregon we had 15" of snow, after which we had some very bumpy icy roads. I was driving with 4x4 on most of the time and hit some nasty pot-holes, or ice holes.

I'm not sure if it's related, but now my parking brake does not fully engage, and the pedal can be easily mashed to the floor.

I have traced the cable from the front to the back, but I am not sure what I am looking for. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, are there any diagrams of what the pedal->cable->brake connections are supposed to look like?

Thanks for any help!

If you have any loose metal cables hanging down underneath, you may have lost the lead cable end holding your system together. If there are no dangling cables, you may have lost an adjusting screw. The system is pretty simple, just lie under there for a while and it will all come to you. Also, before you tweek out any parking cables, I would pull the rear drums and double check the condition of the shoes. The last thing you want to do is fix the wrong thing, and destroy something else..
