So I tried to save $50 (that's a guess) by adding molded mud flaps to both the front and the back of my truck myself.

The rear set went on fine, because I had to drill the holes. The front ones were not so easy. Things didn't seem to want to line up, and I ended up drilling to make them fit, though the instructions didn't call for a drill.

After I was done, I noticed a tiny gap near the top of the front guards.

Should I bring it in to a dealer and have them try to put them on proper? Think they would charge me more than an hours labor? It's hard to see it, and I'm probably just a freak, but shouldn't I be worried about ice and salt and water getting in there?

Here are the parts I used:

I originally had molded guards on my truck too but didn't like the way they fit/looked. I then bought some universal flaps with the white bowtie on them, and I like them a LOT better.

I installed the molded guards and found they were a really tight fit. At first I too thought I would have to drill but the more I worked with them I found out they fit really tight and nice. I also added 3M clear protective tape where they could touch the paint. Clean the truck up and take them back off and go at it again. They will fit.

Have any pictures?

Make sure you have the right ones. There are a couple of different configurations as far as the fender flares are concerned.

I too have these but I used some black vinyl behind them to protect the paint just incase something does get behind the splash guards. But like stated above you have to play with them alittle to get them lined up right.
