Tb Spacer Queston

Ok guys i know some of us dont like these things cuz there a waste of money but , i am a big fan i love the sound, keeps me from buying more expensive things that make noise like a blower or turbo.

On my old blue truck with a 5.3 i noticed lots of whistle and now with the denali and a 6.0lq9 motor i notice very little. To help this question go along i realize that my other truck had alot of mods, Intake, headers exaust, tune....as far as anything that might have anything to do with intake noise. THis truck only has the AEM intake and other than that its stock. so how come no noise?

As you can see im actually looking for the noise so the only thing i havent done is swap my goodmark cowl hood over yet. Im thinking with the stock hood insulator it might be drowing out the whistle noise. However i think this trucks motor is also alot louder than my old LM7 5.3l so maybe thats the issue.

Anyone noticed this before with the 6.0's

:WEIRD: If you want the noise of a turbo go on ebay and search for cheap turbo's and you can probably get the noise that you are looking for!

And yes there are a million threads on this site about TB Spacers if you do a "search" for it...

well i actually did, i always do before i post if its something common like this, I just wanted to know if anyone had noticed a intake differance between motor sizes like. 4.8,5.3,6.0,8.1 . I belive this would be a pressure differance. As the 2 or 3 differnt motors pull more air than the other and this is proboley what im hearing.

On my other truck you could hear the spacer about 100ft infront of the truck and you could hear it if i pulled up next to you while driving on the highway. I had numerous people ask me if the truck was turbo charged...kinda makes you smile..(dumb ass kids..lol) but best $100 spent in my op.

Yeah, made shure of that , the onlything i dont have is the Cowl hood and headers, but i dont thing headers would change the intake pressure or suction value....see what i mean

I would say that the hoods probably make a difference. Being that the cowl is open towards the windshield and the stocker isn't opened at all and is even sound deadened. Also, its a different motor all together.

Your exhaust may make a small difference as well being that its all about flow. If you motor can flow air in and out better, its going to increase velocity and increase turbulance giving you that louder whistle. Am I wrong?
