305/65/17?

Has anyone put 305/65/17 on a new 08 GMC Sierra Z-71. I just put on a 2.5" spacer lift with the 1" rear blocks. I am trying to decide between 285/70/17 which I know will fit vs. 305/65/17 which I am not sure about due to the width. There are more choices as to tires with the 305 vs. the 285/70. If trimming is involved where and what needs to be trimmed. Any info would be very helpfull. Thanks alot.

I just have 265/70/17's. I also don't have a leveling kit yet

Really, your truck look like it has a little lift and those tires look bigger. Maybe its the wheels. Looks good. I like the chrome grill gard.

I plan on getting a leveling kit and rear block real as soon as I have time to install it.

I have the 2.5" top gun customz and that rasied the front higher than the rear, so I installed a 3" rear block and removed the stock 1". I am running 33x12.50x17 MT baja claws on +25mm offset and 5.7" BS. No rubbing, no issues.

So, as near as I can find references on the internet, it looks like a 33x12.50x17 is the same as a 305-70/16 in width and dia???

No, a 305-70-16 is more like a 34" (sorry, I was looking at 17's)

Since I'm happy with Firestones which I've had for 3 or 4 sets now, I just used their chart. Seems like each mfr has some leway on sizing. Firestone shows the same spec tire as about 1" shorter.

I have some 265/75-16s on stock alum wheels now, but if I keep that old dog 99 2500, I'm probably going with different wheels and may go to a 305 if they'll fit without a lift.

BTW, I think you're talking 17"s and I was talking 16"s. The Nittos are almost the same dia as the Firstones, just under 33" in the 305/70-16.

I experienced a little bit of rubbing when running 305/55/20 Nitto TG's with a 3" BL and 2" leveling kit on my truck, which could have easily been resolved with some minor trimming.
