Hey everyone i have a 08' silverado 5.3L CC/SB. Im looking for a pair of headers to give me some more HP. I've heard a few bad things about edelbrock, some good things about JBA, dynatech. Im not looking to spend more than 700$, short tube or long tube?? I would like to remain as emission legal as possible, i have a warranty and would not want to void it. Down the road im looking to get a exhaust system so if you know any good combos let me know. Thank you for all of the help, i hope i was as clear as possible.

Firstly, if you are going to put headers on, put long tubes. If you are not going to put long tubes on, spend your money elsewhere.

Secondly, modern catalytic converters are not very restrictive. Besides being illegal, you will net little if any gain.

I have the dynatech l-tubes and highflow cats. took me about 4 hours to install by myself. Fit and finish is great. Bolt right up to stock exhaust if you get the cats and y pipe.

i think it's a waste of you time to leave the cats on there, whatever restriction from stock headers is saved, will be put back on with the cats

The OEM Cats are HIGH FLOW, so it is not a waste of time. Gotta loose the 1970's way of thinking.

i got headers on my truck and they are edelbrock. i did wish i bought a different kind after installation but i did get to them work. They wouldnt seal very well. I had to tinker with them some and went in and out of the muffler shop and got them to play with it and now its awesome.I noticed a gain in power. Mine are edelbrock shorty ceramic coated. I wanted the long tube but i could only afford so much on the budget i was on and i needed some right then and there cuase my stock exhaust manifold was cracked right around and it was loud
