Center Console

I bought an '08 Seirra 1500 regular cab, and so I didn't have an option of the dash/seating configuration. I have seen trucks with the same dash as mine, but a center console that folds down, and has a lid that opens up to a storage area. What truck is this available on, and where can I get it?

Its available on the LT1 trucks. eBay is probably your best bet for a center console. If you get lucky you could maybe find one at a salvage yard.

type in 40/20/40 split bench seat in ebay and something should come up. i have one in my sierra sl.

My truck is Silver Birch Metallic with Dark Titanium/Light Titanium cloth seats, and even though my truck is the SLE1 trim, I have the W/T Console.

They make seat covers for that.I think iggy's has them. I would have the plastic painted. There is some good paint out there that will stick if you do all the prep work. Look how this guy did his tailgate latch. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88700

Yeah the plastic part will be no prob. I painted the bowtie on my truck with Krylon Fusion and it has held up very well to the elements.

That would be all fine and dandy, but I want the other console, and don't want the paint to chip later on down the road. I guess the ebony console is the one that would match my truck.

I went to the dealership today to check out the seat with the lid. I am going to upgrade, but now i have another concern, it seemed that it would be rock hard on the ass of the passenger that had to sit on it. Has anybody traveled for an extended amount of time while sitting on it?

You have a nice comfy seat, who cares if somebody else's seat isn't up to par? Besides, if someone has to sit there that long I suggest traveling in a different vehicle aka mini van. I wish my truck had the storage area under the seat. I have the WT and I have the same setup as you, I just don't want to put a mixed matched seat in my truck.
