Seat Heaters

I have a 2004 Tahoe and I noticed that the drivers side seat heater gets very hot and gives off an electrical burning odor. Any ideas on what to do to remedy this problem would be greatly appreciated

sounds like its being shorted out id take it in have them check it out. i had problems with my p/s seats not raising or lowering it just remained in the low position. couldnt get it to do anything. they had to replace whole deal. thank goodness it was under warrenty.

But I would try to take it in in hopes of it being under warranty, if not you might not be able to use it due to fire risk..

If it is not under warranty I would fix it or disconnect it. I saw a Volvo seat burn right through from one of those. I have never had this problem in any of my GMs.
