The dealer installed Fabtechs are comming back to the dealer now (been selling for 2 years). They are sending them to a Big Rig shop to have the mounting hardware replaced w/ grade 8, and tack welded to the frame. (would have been a good idea to begin with)

so those are better then a fabtech?

Fabtech is fine since you have a GMT900, I'm just not a fan of them on other era's of GM trucks since they push the wheels out in the front.

I had a body lift and leveling kit installed when I bought the truck in Sept. of 07, and then I had the BDS installed in Aug. of 08. Fabtech is a great lift for these trucks as well. Fabtech is one of the more prominent lifts in my area for sure.

I went with the Fabtech. I have beaten the truck up a little bit and I am happy with it. I actually hit a bump last weekend and the front of the truck was airbourne. I was fuggin scared but after looking at everything, it was all fine. All of my angles are nice and flat so shouldnt wear anything (ball joints, cv's, yada yada) down prematurely. I mean, maybe faster then stock but should be fine.

I'm in the market for a 6" aswell, what do you guys think of the Procomp systems? I liked the one with the coilovers and rear adjustable shocks.

** Also, I know there is problems with trucks with stabiltrak, but I do have the auto4 wheel drive, do any of these systems create a problem with that?

To be honest, they are all basically the same. All of the kits even use the same exact spindle. They all offer adjustable coilovers, and most offer rear options. I did a TON of research and went with the Fabtech only b/c it measures out to be bigger then 6". My drop members measured 8" from hole to hole. Think I netted about 7.5" of actual lift. I also liked the impact bar location better on this lift. They attach to the front of the transmission x-member, rather then under it. I take my truck off-roading quite a bit so the less parts I can bang up, the better. Again, they are all basically the same design-wise. Having said that, I think the Procomp kit is good.

I have only heard of one problem with Stabilitrak, and I can't seem to remember which lift it was. I want to say it was a Bullet-proof kit, which was 8"+. I have heard of a few problems with the Auto-trac. With the Auto-trac engaged, your front driveshaft is ALWAYS spinning, even though you front wheels are not locked in. The new angles at the u-joint it may cause some vibrations. You can remedy this with a new front drive-shaft. This will cost you about 400 bucks. I think Procomp offers this as an option. I don't use the auto so I have no complaints. While in 4wd, I have zero vibrations. Hope this helps...
