Robin Williams was the original quick wit master. I actually got to meet him backstage at a performance in Austin at the Paramount Theatre years ago. He was just as nuts in person.

Great prank. There should be open season with no bag limit on telemarketers. That occupation is reprehensible.

Here is a much simpler, but effective method....

 

When a telemarketer calls, act interested for a minute or so, then say "Excuse me, could you hold on a minute, someone is at my door"....Then set the phone down and go about your business.

 

I have done this many times and it's amazing how long they sit there waiting for you to come back, since they think they have a "sale" and don't want to lose it. I had one guy sit there for almost 15 minutes....saying "Hello???...HELLO?" several times.
