I Just Have To Share This - Multi Problem Resolution

I have to share this with the group, because it turned out pretty well. Since having the old beast rebuilt at the end of November, I really have been dis-pleased. Now since it's not a daily driver, I was not too concerned with getting things resolved, untill I had to put her to service. The speedometer started dancing all over the place, and the cruise would not work. Of course the stealership said that I had a bad speedometer buffer and head unit. Replacement of both units, plus having it sent out to be calibrated was my option to the tune of $975. Since the motor was just done, I said thank you and paid the $100 diag. In the meantime, she started running bad too and I thought I was needing-a)injectors b)throttle body plate bushings c)cat converter, you get the idea. I decided to bring it to the speedometer shop by my office, since it would need all that good stuff with replacement, why not go to a source to get that fixed, then I can take it back to my builder for the other stuff. I dropped her off and was minimal on my speedometer details, not telling them about the dealership. After 1 1/2 hours I get the call she's done to the tune of $155. They tracked a corroded ground off of the battery under the hood, replaced a few items, cleaned her up and sent me off. Well who would have thought that that was my source of all problems. I now have my beast back, so I can take her to the rebuilder to solve my little oil leak... And I have money to spend on HP upgrades too.

It's good that you got it solved. Have you posted pics of this truck? (or did I miss the thread?)

I will have to wait for the 20-year-old to undo all the use damage he has sustained....
