Rear End Help Quick Please!

hello this is my first post and i need help please i just blew up my rear end i got it all installed by my uncle who has set a bunch of them up. the problem is we set it up and put a used carrier posi and limited slip in it and new yukon ring and pinion, new wheel bearings and wheel seals. the problem i have now is when i deaccelerate and turn right it makes a kind of whirring noise that is consistent with the wheel speed. when you go straight or turn left there is no noise. when the noise occurs if i apply throttle the noise goes away. to me this noise would indicate wheel bearings but they are brand new timken bearings!!! the truck sounds fine going down the road. let me list some things that ive already tired, additive for possi, rotate tires, tried to get possi to kick in to get the additive in the clutch. I have a great deal of mechanic experience but i am just lost on this and i need you guys on this one!!!! any help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks CODY

here is my suggestion....pull the rear wheels and put it on jack stands chock the front wheels ect ect all the safety stuff then start the truck put it in gear and try to isolate the problem....I think you are going to find that its coming from the carrier assmbly

i know its coming from the carrier assembly the noise was not there untill i rebuilt my rear end the question is if there is no signs of abnormal wear new wheel bearings, normal backlash, and the pinion preload is right what is it? i mean im lost. thanks cody

ok guys latest news i just looked at my carrier and i shook it back and forth kust a little bit of play back and fourth on the carrier i mean barely anything noticable i know this needs to be fixed but could this make that noise? i mean i know it could but only with no throttle and to the right?

just a suggestion, did you check the universal joints also, they were put under alot of stress when you ruined the rearend they could be the noise. good luck

can u joints make a whirring noise only when you are coasting? and only when you turn to the right? thank you for your input i appreciate it! CODY

did you check the backlash of the carrier ? you said it had barely any play that s not really a measurment of backlash . that would create that sound your talking about

You mentioned this is a Limited slip? A special lubricant needs to be in the oil or the limited slip clutches may be grabbing as you turn.

You can buy the additive separately and add it to your oil or purchase oil that has it.

you have a gap between the gears or the pinion an maine gear we had this problem alot but mostly with m\tranny ...racing just kils the diff

the backlash is the same checked it with a dial indicator it is 6 thousands. I said that there was a little bit of play side to side with the carrier just barely anything could this make the noise? when we set it up we had to really push those shims in therei dont think we could fit anymore in there. thank you cody

A wheel bearing would make noise whenever it was rotating, whether turning left, right or going straight, IMO.

I'm suspicious it's the differential.
