alright ive been looking up the RPO codes in my truck, well, it says i have the G80(locking differential) and GU5(3.23) gears in the rear(which kinda makes me frown lol) and i got stuck a while back and when i was trying to get out only one tire would spin...if i had the differential shouldnt it lock and atleast make both tires spin?

How fast were you spinning the tires. The G80 unlocks at I think 20mph. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

not fast at all, maybe 10-15 at the most when only one tire was spinning, but i got some what mad and kicked it once or twice then just got someone to pull me out.

When I'm screwing around in snow or mud, the rear stays locked no matter what my wheel speed gets up to.

A good test would be to go someplace you know you'll spin the tires (going up a wet grassy hill or something) and just ease the throttle until the tires start to spin. If both tires don't engage at these low speeds, you don't have the G80 or yours is broken.
