05 Gmc Sierra Fog Lights

Hey guys,

I have an issue that is bugging the hell out of me and I need some input if this has happened to anyone else's truck. I have a 05 Gmc sierra 2500 hd with the stock fog lights in the bumper ( round ). I keep getting water in the lenses and had to replace them a couple times already. The problem seems to happen when my plow is on the truck and I am driving around. The plow makes the water spray around the vehicle alot more as to when the plow is off the truck. I have tried to put some silicon sealant on the base of the bulb where it seals in the housing but the other morning I went out to the truck and saw the water pooled up inside the lens. This does not happen when the plow is off as I put new (stock) fogs on before the winter. Also my truck is always clean as I am a detailer to boot, which means a daily trip to the local car wash and I have them spray the underside everytime. But everytime I go through I get out and look at these lights and they are bone dry. Is the plow my enemy here ?? Anybody else having this issue with these lights and how do I stop it ??

Thanks

Tony

The plow creates a vacuum that sucks water towards the front of the truck as you drive. The water is getting in through a condensation drain hole in the back of the lamp housing(ironically). I've got the same thing with my 2004. Come spring I'm going to pull the housings out, remove the bulbs, rinse them out good and when they are dry reinstall.
